The Takeaway:  A dramatic layout with major elevation changes, severe terrain, and tons of memorability, the Ridge course is a unique layout for Canada. Not as good as Carrick’s Greywolf design, but one that requires quality shot making.  Grade B+

What to Expect:  A wild ride from start to finish, the Ridge course at Predator Ridge is a Doug Carrick design that isn't bashful with the elevation changes it experiences and will have your attention from start to finish. The setting is a combination of playing through real estate developments and then through more natural settings that are nicer on the senses. It is mountain golf with dramatic moments, panoramic views, and strategic shot values. The Ridge Course, the more celebrated of the two layouts at the resort, was crafted to exploit the rugged terrain above the Okanagan Valley, incorporating massive granite outcroppings, expansive views of Okanagan Lake, and striking elevation shifts that influence how almost every hole plays. Some tee shots play from dramatic high points, while others demand approaches to greens tucked on or near ridgelines. While it is not near as good as Carrick's Greywolf course that is also found in B.C., there are still some similarities with the elevation changes and design features. Walking this course would be exclusively for mountain goats, or those training to be one, so you’ll find players almost exclusively in carts. In the end, the Ridge course is a ton of fun, but maybe not the course for everyone; especially higher handicappers.
