The Takeaway:  A bit of a party course, Tower Ranch often attracts groups looking for a good time. The hillside layout saves its best for the back nine and is a good course for the area, but is not one of Canada’s elite.  Grade B-

What to Expect:  Tower Ranch is a Thomas McBroom design built on a hillside with a design and routing that is reminiscent of Soldier Hollow's Gold course in Utah. Throughout the routing you’ll experience plenty of elevation changes, bunkers, and water features to keep you engaged. You’ll even play along a vineyard during the front nine before cranking things up on the back nine with the higher quality holes of the two sides, but neither side lacks. The dramatic elevation changes helps the course play shorter than the yardage you’ll see on the scorecard, but it also demands more accuracy. While there are a multitude of bunkers on the course, you’ll find just two water features to avoid, but really it is the native areas outside the fairways that will be the most likely place to lose a ball. This is a cart-ball golf course, so don’t expect to see players packing their clubs on their back as they ascend the hills of Tower Ranch. Ultimately, Tower Ranch is solid from start to finish; just not as spectacular in its design or engagement to compete with the best courses in Canada.
