What to Expect:  Considered the 3rd wheel at the Pebble Beach Resort since opening in 1987, Spanish Bay is still a legitimate Top 100 public course design with a ton of charm. The coastal Scottish links style layout provides a different experience from the other resort courses of Pebble Beach and Spyglass Hill by allowing players to utilize either their aerial game or ground game to work their ball around the course. The rye grass fairways and Poa annua greens don't offer as firm and fast of links conditions as the fescue grass at Bandon does, but it still represents the purest public links experience on the sand dunes of the Monterey Coast. Caddies or carts are available during your round and a bagpiper is stationed near the clubhouse playing his pipes as the sun starts to set. While Spanish Bay isn't as celebrated as its neighbors, being the 3rd best course at Pebble Beach Resort is like being the 3rd best course at Bandon Dunes Resort which still makes it better than the best course at 95% of the resorts in America.
