What to Expect: The Nationwide Tour makes one stop in the state of Utah, and it is at Willow Creek Country Club in Sandy (south of Salt Lake City). The course has gone under a couple of renovations in its history with the most recent being in 2005. The course has an old, classic feel on the front and features some dramatic holes on the back. Willow Creek definitely has a country club feel and the conditioning is always solid. The course is reminiscent of other country clubs in the Salt Lake Valley area, which is a good thing since each of those courses are solid offerings, but it doesn’t do much to distinguish itself from the pack. The back nine is the more memorable of the sides featuring some elevation changes before finishing with a couple of attractive water features that bring some strategy into play. If you haven’t played much golf in the area, you will certainly be impressed by the mountains that tower in the distance and provide a stunning background for various shots throughout the round. In the end, Willow Creek is a solid golf course that can flirt with being in the Top 10 of the state but not in the discussion as one of the Beehive State’s elite tracks. By the Numbers:
